The .NET Framework is a set of tools designed by Microsoft. They provide a library of tools to work with the Web, Windows, and Mobile Devices.

ASP.NET is a unified Web platform that provides all the services necessary for you to build enterprise-class applications. ASP.NET is built on the .NET Framework, so all .NET Framework features are available to ASP.NET applications. Your applications can be written in any language that is compatible with the common language runtime (CLR), including Visual Basic and C#.

Basically it is used to make a website along with another language such as Visual Basic or C#.

C# is our preferred language to use in the .NET environment. If another .NET language is requested we can also work with those requirements.
